Tim Fisher - Muay Thai

Tim began his Muay Thai training in 1990 with Mark Pease and Strikeforce Gym on the Gold Coast.

He later moved to Sydney becoming part of the Bulldog fight team, developing his skills with Nick Stone and Stuart McKinnon, fighting both boxing (Mark Pitts) and kick-boxing in Sydney. Nick and Stuart were two of Tim’s biggest influences. During his time at Bulldog Gym Tim made many trips to Thailand, training between one and six months at a time at such gyms as Sasiprapa, Eminent Air, Fairtex and Chitlada; also three months at Vos Gym in Netherlands, home of Ivan Hippolyte and Ernesto Hoost.


After retiring from fighting Muay Thai due to injury Tim promoted "War On The North Shore" boxing/kickboxing show viewed on Fox Sports Australia wide 1999. In 2008 Tim again started promoting with fellow Bulldog gym owner Steve Guinane. The promotions known as "Charity Fight Club",  raise some money for local charity.

In 2003-2005 Tim continued his passionate study of Muay Thai, spending one year in Thailand training at Chay-yai Gym with Mongkoldech Sitthapittak (now True Bee Gym) as well as training with Coban  Lookchaomaesaitong for three months in New York. Coban won five World Titles and two Lumphine Titles and fight fans will remember his famous matches with Ramon Dekker.

Tim also taught Muay Thai in Ireland, training 2 times all-Ireland boxing champion, Jenny Campbell.

In 2003 Tim was coach of the British National Team for the World Muay Thai Championships in Thailand.

In 2006 Tim moved back to Thailand for 12 months managing Chay-yai Gym while continuing his study of Muay Thai and beginning to train and fight in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission wrestling. That year he won silver medals at the South East Asian Games and  Pan Pacific GrapplingGames in submission wrestling.

Back in Australia Tim now takes great delight in sharing his knowledge of the sport he loves so much. Very friendly and approachable, Tim likes to create an atmosphere in the gym were all new students feel welcome.

 

Alex Aguet - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA and YOGA

Alexander Aguet

Alex first trained in the martial arts with Kung fu and Korean kick boxing at age 10. Later with beginning training in Aiki Jujitsu he achieved a third degree black belt (Sandan) under Robert Ishibashi (USA).

During a ten year period in Indai Alex studied Greco Roman, Palwani and Malla Yudha wrestling styles in the states of Bengal, Rajhastan and Hanayana. Also in India Alex studied traditional Astanga Yoga.

During a three year break from India, in 1996 Alex studied Osteopathic Medicine in Los Angeles California. During this time Alex first came in contact with Brazilian Jujitsu with Royce Gracie in Torrence California where he trained for two months.

Alex then moved to Inglewood California and started training in Beverly Hills Jujitsu. It was in this facility Alex regularly attended (6 full afternoons per week for 3 years) classes given by Bas Rutten (Pancrase),Marcus Ruas and Pedro Rizzo (Muay Thai, Luta Livre MMA classes),Oleg Taktarov (Russian Sambo and MMA)  Wrestling with Mark Kerr, and Brazilian Jujitsu (Marcus Vinicius and Ethan Milan). In 1999 Alex received his purple belt from Joe Morreria Gracie Barra.

During his time in America Alex took part in 8 Vale Tudo (MMA) fights (8 wins 0 loses 1 TKO and 7 submissions)and 3 Pancrase tournaments and numerous BJJ , Judo and freestyle grappling competitions.

While at Beverley Hills Jujitsu, Alex became stretch/flexibility coach for fighters taking part in  the King of Pancrase and Pride Competitions in Japan. Alex also studied Sambo with Gokor & Gene Lebell Hayastan in North Hollywood.

Since leaving America Alex has been teaching, living and studying Jujitsu and Kosen Judo in Japan, Malaysia, India, Nepal and Australia. In 2008 he received his brown belt in Brazilian Jujitsu from Professor Givaldo Santana (Lotus Gym California & Brazil).

Alex’s classes are focused on the efficient execution of technique in  Sport Jujitsu, MMA and, more importantly, Self Defense situations. He prides himself in providing detailed advice on safe and healthy practices during training. Individuals wanting to be involved in competitions and tournaments are provided with detail advice on diet, life style, exercise regimen and recovery.

 

 

 

 
 

Rhino Sanengmorokot - Guest trainer from Thailand

 

 

Rhino is an experienced trainer with more than 200 fights experience from the famous Sanengmorokot Gym in Thailand. Rhino has worked as a trainer around the world and trained many champions.

 

WANGJAN SITSONGPEENONG - Guest trainer from Thailand

WANGJAN SITSONGPEENONG has had more that 300 professional Muay Thai fights in Thailand and is from the famous Sitsonpeenong Gym in Thailand. Sitsongpeenong now has two current champions of Thailand. Wangjan previously worked as a trainer with at Fairtex Pattaya with Muay Thai Superstars and world Champions:  Kem , Yodsanklai, Attachai, Tee Lek and Naropol Fairtex.

Wangjan will be arriving the first week in 13th Feb and will be our guest trainer for three months.

Bulldog Gyms have some of the best trainers in  Australia, all with international fighting experience. Private lessons, group classes and fighter training available.

Muay Thai: Thai kickboxing sometimes refered to as the art of eight limbs. Punches, kicks, knees and elbows are allowed and the sport has grown in popularity thoughout the world. It is seen as practical self defense, an exciting ring sport and a great way to get into shape.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu:  Is a martial art and combat sport focusing on grappling and ground fighting. It promotes the principle that a smaller weaker person can succesfully defend themselves against a bigger stronger assailant using leverage and proper technique; applying joint locks and choke holds to defeat them. BJJ can be trained for self defence, sports grappling competitions (gi and no gi) and mixed martial arts competitions.

CLASSES:

Muay Thai Fitness: This is a one hour class teaching the teachniques of Muay Thai techniques. Great for fitness, weight control and self defence the workout consists of a warm up, strength and conditioning exercises, technique training  partner pad work and stretching to warm down muscles and avoid injury. Light sparring is optional after the class for those interested.  Full protective kit must be worn.

Muay Thai Girls: This is a one hour class teaching the techniques of Muay Thai and self defence application. Great for fitness, weight loss and gaining self confidence

Muay Thai Fighers: Competition fighters class. Very demanding class of conditioning, technique, drills, pads, grappling and sparring to prepare for Muay Thai competitions. Bulldog fighters fight regularly thoughout Australia.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Foundation: This class is taught in modules to establish an understanding and and a base of skills in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. No experience is neccessary as everyone is taught from the very beginning. A good foundation is important for all of our spaorts so attention is shown to detail and technique.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Intermediate: A more demanding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class with more complex techniques for those with a good basic understanding of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

MMA Mixed Martial Arts: Ground and pound techniques and submissions are practised in this class with a blending of skills from Wresting, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. 

Kids Kick boxing: This class teaching kids self discipline, helps with their physical development, self defence, self control and self confidence.
